Best pistol for home defense and concealed carry?

i currently have a winchester 12 gauge speed pump combat shot gun for a first go to weapon for home defense but i am looking for a pistol for a lighter faster home defense weapon. i am going to get my concealed carry so im looking for something that would work well for that too. i am military army guard and shot everything from 44 mag, shot guns, and m4s. just need ideas for home defense/concealed carry pistol with a 600 dollar limit. thank you for help.
