Truth not always the best?

I work with with a girl(co-teamleader) and she said something bad about one of my friends saying she is incompetent at her job.I expalined to her that my friend informed a manger and he is sorting it out,Then she called the manger incompetent.When the manger came up a few later she asked him to witch he comfirmed what i said and walked off to witch i turned round and said her i thought you was going to call him incompetent?.So i went to my friend and told them what she said and she talked to her.Then the girl(co-teamleader) goes off crying to the manger and saying its not true and people are green eyed monsters because she is higher up and everyobe is out to get her.Everyone knows in store that this girl does nothing but b**** about people and talks down to them.. and its not the first time she has said stuff and went crying after someone has pulled her up about it.So to be fair i went up to her today and i said..yes i told my friend about what you said..and she called me a lier and said all i spread round is nasty stuff and im the whole reason why the team is not working as one and i must really hate her..but as we talked her story changed a bit..by saying she cant remmber if she said it..and i missheard or missuderstood her..to sum up after the chat we agreed to disagee and got a lot off our chests about each other..but did i really do anything wrong?
